Withdrawal Policy

The Algorithms and Intelligence journal recognizes the importance of maintaining academic integrity throughout the publication process. Authors may, under certain circumstances, request the withdrawal of their submitted or accepted manuscript. The following Withdrawal Policy outlines the conditions and procedures for withdrawing a manuscript:

1. Request for Withdrawal:

  • Before Peer Review:
Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript at any time before it enters the peer review process. This can be done by submitting a formal request to the editorial team via email or the journal's submission system. No reason for withdrawal is required at this stage.

  • After Peer Review:
If the manuscript has already been sent for peer review but has not yet received a decision, authors may still request withdrawal. However, they must provide a valid reason for the withdrawal, which will be reviewed by the editorial team.

  • After Acceptance:
Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors may request a withdrawal, but this will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, such as ethical issues, significant errors in the manuscript, or unforeseen personal or professional circumstances. The request must be accompanied by a clear and reasonable explanation.

2. Conditions for Withdrawal:

  • Prior to Publication:
Manuscripts that have not yet been published may be withdrawn without penalties. Authors should inform the editorial team as soon as they decide to withdraw their manuscript to ensure timely removal from the publication pipeline.

  • After Publication:
Once an article has been published online, it cannot be withdrawn from the journal. In the case of serious issues (e.g., plagiarism, incorrect data, or ethical violations), the article may be retracted instead of withdrawn. Retraction will be clearly noted on the article page and in the journal's records.

  • Fees and Charges:
There are no fees for withdrawing a manuscript before it has been accepted for publication. However, if the withdrawal occurs after peer review has begun, authors may be asked to cover any editorial processing costs incurred up until that point.

3. Retracted Articles:

  • If an article has already been published and is withdrawn due to ethical violations, errors, or other substantial issues, it will be officially retracted. A retraction notice will be issued on the journal’s website, and the article will remain accessible but clearly marked as retracted.

4. Ethical Considerations:

  • The editorial team will carefully evaluate all withdrawal requests to ensure that the process is handled with fairness and transparency. Authors must be honest and clear in their communication about withdrawal requests. Manuscripts cannot be withdrawn due to the author's desire to submit the same content to another journal after it has entered the peer review process.

5. Procedure for Withdrawal:

  • To request the withdrawal of a manuscript, authors should:

    1. Contact the editorial team via email or the journal’s submission system.

    2. Include the title of the manuscript, submission ID, and the reason for the withdrawal.

    3. If applicable, explain any ethical concerns or errors that led to the withdrawal request.

  • The editorial team will acknowledge the withdrawal request and confirm whether it has been processed, typically within 7–10 business days.

6. Journal’s Right to Withdraw:

  • The Algorithms and Intelligence journal reserves the right to withdraw any manuscript if it is discovered that it does not meet the journal’s ethical or quality standards, such as in cases of plagiarism, dual submission, or if the manuscript is found to contain significant inaccuracies that cannot be corrected.
